WHO WE ARE
Queen's Women in Leadership (QWIL) is a student-run club within the Queen's University Community. For the aspiring leaders of today, QWIL works to connect, inspire and educate. We strive to empower women to reach their full potential and challenge people of all genders to engage in the conversation surrounding equity.
Our Guiding Pillars
A commitment to our community is a force which drives us, as we create events and opportunities which are utmost accessible by all and inclusive to the many groups we are lucky to be surrounded by on campus and in our greater community across Canada.
QWIL's recent ratification under AMS has pivoted our focus to engage and represent the whole Queen's student body, expanding from our previous involvement within the Commerce program exclusively. Outreach outside of Commerce happens thanks to the diverse perspectives of our team members and the engagement and feedback of those across the whole Queen’s community.
A commitment to education by us and all of our stakeholders is vital. We’re extremely fortunate to have access to many experts, resources and platforms - making it our responsibility to share transparently with groups who engage with QWIL. The main goal here is to benefit those who are dedicated to continuously improving themselves and their purview on the topic of Women in Leadership and other equity matters.
EQUITY, DIVERSITY, INCLUSION, INDIGENEITY (EDII)
Internally and externally, our team engages regularly in learning opportunities and are held accountable for pushing forward the EDII commitments set by our previous team and Co-Chairs. QWIL is an equity seeking club, and therefore our expectation is that every member of the team, attendee of events, and sponsor, is dedicated to viewing things from an EDII perspective and commitment.
